PRANAY BAIDYA LOGO DESIGN

BRIEF: To design a logo for Pranay Baidya, a fashion designer from Bengal. He was looking for a logo that represents Bengal.

IDEA 01: Alpana, is a form of Rangoli that is practiced in Bengal. It is a representation of the artistic sensibility of the people of that state of India. It is usually practiced by women and this art form represents an amalgamation of the past experiences as well as contemporary designs. Keeping that in mind, I designed a logo which has a very small alpana made by hand. The connect was the creativity.

IDEA 02: Bengali is derived from the Brahmi alphabet. These letters are art in itself. Hence, I thought of having the initials of the designer's name in Bengali. The touch I gave is that these are written by a brush.
